Project Managers:

Larry Slife
Larry is a native Las Vegan who has been actively involved in the construction industry for 40 years. In 1974 he started working for a local real estate developer, where Larry progressed through the ranks and in 1977 became a superintendent. His past projects range from basic entry-level homes to multifamily/apartments to commercial projects. But his passion is building custom homes, and over the last 15 years he has built some of the finest custom homes in the Las Vegas Valley.

Lloyd Hook

Lloyd moved to Las Vegas in September of 2005 from Kansas City to be with his wife’s family. His background is in windows and doors which he began building and then installing for eight years prior to moving to Las Vegas. Once in Las Vegas Lloyd was employed as a homeowner technician for a window and door company for a year and half. He then went to work for another company as a service manager and lead technician / installation supervisor. While Lloyd was working for this company he was onsite supervising the windows and doors installation for a large Merlin project. Merlin saw potential in his supervisory skills and his window and door knowledge and he was soon hired on. Lloyd was excited to be a part of the Merlin team where he could further his construction knowledge and be a part of an amazing company.

Mike Alton
Mike is a competent and seasoned professional with a strong record of achievement in providing the necessary construction management and personnel motivation expertise to ensure streamline operations, customer satisfaction and increased productivity. Mike is a native Las Vegan who’s passionate in construction and being able to build with his hands. Mike has the insight to be able to read building plans and construct the home inside his head to project future problems or areas that may need to be looked into further.

Mike Robinson
Mike went to college to become an architect, but decided that he wanted to build instead of designing. He moved to Las Vegas to pursue his construction career. He is a skilled builder and project manager who is well respected in his field by all trades. He has a great base of knowledge in construction and if he doesn’t know something he is not afraid to ask and find out. Mike is always learning due to tech-knowledge advances and building codes changing periodically. Mike’s other passion is his family; he has raised 3 beautiful children and has grandchildren to love and spoil.

Mitch Kelley
Mitch has been part of the construction industry in Las Vegas for 12 years. Mitch began as a labor and eventually moved up to project manager. While working as a labor he began studying any and all construction related books in the evenings while gaining some carpentry skills on the job. With the drive to better him and the drive to learn more about what he loves, he moved up from a laborer to an assistant project manager. Mitch was then taught by one of Merlin’s project manager how to read plans, make schedules sharpen leadership skills while continuing night time study of related subjects. His skills grew him into a leadership position taking over a project and seeing it to the finish. Mitch was able to move from this project to another project where he was the project manager for the exterior of the large estate. With the skills he was learning onsite and on his free time he has grown into an excellent project manger that is capable of building homes from the ground up, remodels, assisting other project managers and getting his hands dirty.

Oscar Nuno
Oscar moved to the United States from Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico in his early twenties. His family in Mexico was in the construction industry and he moved to the United States to work with his brother in the jewelry business. He soon realized he enjoyed working in construction and moved to Las Vegas in 2001 where he was employed by Merlin Contracting. Oscar is an invaluable employee; he provides many skills such as framing, concrete, carpentry, etc. Oscar is married with a daughter and son who he enjoys spending time with. His family enjoys family outings to California and Utah, where they go fishing, hunting and child activities.

Project Manager Assistant:

Anton Hannan
Anton is originally from northern Californian and moved to Las Vegas in 2008. He was hired by Merlin contracting in November of 2008 as a laborer. He soon realized he enjoyed working outside with his hands. He started working with a project manager who was teaching him new skills and allowing him to see his potential in the construction industry. Anton is currently enrolled at ITT-TECH as a full time student studying construction management, while working full time in the field gaining hands-on knowledge of construction project management.

Master Carpenter:

Limon Annis
Limon grew up on a ranch in Wyoming. He moved to Las Vegas in 1983 and worked in the construction industry building cabinetry, framing, millwork, etc. You name it Limon is your guy to build anything you can dream of. Merlin snagged him in 1995 and will not allow him to go anywhere else, he is very much an asset to this company. When he is not working for Merlin he spends time with his wife on his ranch outside of Searchlight Nevada.

Carpenter Assistant:

Eric Reinke
Eric grew up in a small farming community in Bay City, Michigan. He joined the Air Force at the age of 19. After 15 months in Guam the Air Force relocated him to Las Vegas in 1988. Eric is also a retired Boulder City police officer. He met his wife Kelly in Boulder City while being employed by the police department. He has two children a boy and a girl who he loves to spend time with when he is not working.

Santana Flores
Santana moved from California to Las Vegas in 2004 with his wife and son. He has been employed with Merlin Contracting since 2006. He still has family in Mexico City, Mexico who he tries to visit at least once a year. Santana is very family oriented and his life is structured around his family.

 

Office Staff:

Chief Estimator:

Robert Brown, Sr.
Robert has over twenty years of experience in the construction industry including the last six years with Merlin Contracting. He is responsible for estimating, scheduling, product selections, and various other financial aspects of the custom homes Merlin builds. He also assists the Project/Site Managers in locating unique materials, coordinating multiple-trade mobilization, providing cost analysis for unique field conditions and estimating additional work authorizations. During the past six years he has estimated a wide variety of projects some of which include: * An Old World French Estate, So. Highlands Estates Las Vegas, NV 30,000SF/ 6 Buildings on 3 acres/ approximately $20,000,000 with hundreds of materials shipped from French. * A Modern 9,500 SF in the Ridges approximately $7,000,000. * An Ultra Modern 5,000 SF in the Ridges Summerlin approximately $3,000,000. * An Old World 10,000 SF home on the shore of Lake Las Vegas approximately $8,000,000.

Bookkeeper:

Sara Eisert
Sara is originally from Southern Minnesota and moved to Las Vegas in 2003. She has owned and managed a variety of services and retail business. She joined the Merlin team in May of 2011 as the bookkeeper and managing the office. Sara enjoys hiking areas outside of Las Vegas and spending time with friends. She has two cats who are the rulers of her kingdom!

Office & Field Assistants:

Erica Morrison
Erica Morrison has been in Las Vegas since 2002, she is originally from a small town in Arizona, not far from Las Vegas. She holds a degree in Bachelor of Human Services from University of Phoenix. In her free time she likes to go to sporting events, especially baseball and spends time with her family and two dogs. Erica has been part of the Merlin team since 2004, where she quickly adapts to the various changes that occur with the dynamic demands of a custom home’s creation and renovation. She has proven to be an asset to the Merlin Team.

Nina Kelly
Nina has been a Merlin team member for 8 years. She has provided office and field assistance to our project managers, from generating subcontractor contracts and additional work authorizations (AWAs); providing support with scheduling trades; and managing weekly progress payments to subcontractors through the use of Merlin’s voucher system. She helps to organize many aspects of the project through Merlin’s Construction Document Management System, using Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Outlook to help create the many spreadsheets, contracts, AWAs, letters, reports and scheduling items necessary to the job. She communicates directly with our homeowners and homeowners’ representatives, architects, and designers, as well as the local building authorities and trade representatives to gain and distribute information in a timely fashion and to obtain the approvals necessary to facilitate the advancement of the building process.

She helps to maintain cost control by producing and sending weekly reports to our clients detailing all payments anticipated for the next week; showing all AWAs approved and pending; and showing the current and impending budget. This provides the homeowner with timely information on how the budget is being allocated.
